Nosara's dry season beckons with sunshine and adventure. But a little preparation can make it truly magical. Here's your top 10 checklist to get ready for dry season:
I. Water Wise:
Water Tank Inspection: Inspect and clean your back up water tank. Ensure it's full to avoid running dry during high season.
Leak Busters: Keep your water meter in check. Regular monitoring helps detect and prevent leaks before they become a hassle.
Irrigation Hero: Optimize your irrigation system. Perform comprehensive hose and hardware inspections for leaks, adjust your watering schedules for the dry season (eg. night water schedule), and consider installing drought resistant plants.
II. Home Sweet Home:
Roof & Gutters: Take advantage of the dry weather to perform preventative roof and gutter maintenance, as well as make any repairs needed.
Breathe Easy: Stay on top of deep cleaning your AC filters and exterior components regularly. With the increased dust during the dry season, this is crucial for optimal performance, good air circulation, and minimizing health risks from dust buildup.
III. Safety First:
Fire Safety Focus: Test your smoke detectors and program your calendar to change the batteries at least every 45 days. Also, be sure to check that your fire extinguishers have not expired.
